okayy I'm kind of losing my mind a bit here. so duke thomas was destined for greatness right, we can agree. he like skipped that superheroing step where you figure out your ideals and what you fight for because he's had that figured out since he was like seven. and everyone around him can see it, that glowing potential, the fact that he radiates hope in his own unique way. his hope isn't effortless or blind, it isn't even unwavering but something in him glows so fiercely that it burns past him and onto others

and it's like fwww he's kind of a demigod?? in the sense that, his evil dad is immortal and believes himself to be a god but like ironically duke doesn't even have to fake it, he just is divine. he comes straight from the heart of gotham and has seen its gross underbelly and he's made his claim to protect it no matter what. hes otherworldly while simultaneously being grounded and I think it's a fun dichotomy 4 his character

No more drawing duke bald, we've evolved past it. This is for everyone especially wfa onlys. I know most of yall don't like drawing bald people and what a coincidence neither do I! Lucky for you, in the comics, duke doesn't have a buzz cut his hair usually looks more like this

The buzzcut is a lazy, common thing that many artists less experienced with black hair default to when drawing black characters. In the age of artists actually learning more diverse black hairstyles, I say we include him in this movement!

seriously like jason lets him make jokes about his death and he lets duke call him out when he's being dramatic and emo damian also immediately respected him bc DUKE showed immediate respect like duke knew damian was more experienced and skilled than he was in vigilantism and didnt treat damian like a kid so they saw a movie together :) dont get me started on duke and cass theyre dynamic is so special to me but also its canon that duke cass and steph go mini-golfing on sundays they call it their self care day and i dont think hes actually really interacted with tim much im pretty sure tim was dead when dukes story was developing but i assume that duke and tim would be on good terms too duke is fr just a fuckin capybara bro has no beef with anyone dc comics duke thomas batfam im only tagging duke tbh im lazy

Babs: she loves opera and has a particular fondness for prokofiev and wagner (inherited from her dad, they used to go to the Gotham Opera together)

Selina: latin pop - gloria estefan, enrique iglesias, ricky martin, selena - as well as reggaeton and salsa (she loves to take bruce salsa dancing bc he's a pretty good dancer and can throw her around a bit)

Clark: he loves country music - johnny cash, dolly parton (he met her as superman and got her autograph), shania twain, orville peck - but he mainly listens to podcasts bc he's a nerd (affectionate)

Talia: like damian, she enjoys arabic rock but also arabic folk music, bollywood music, and frank sinatra (like selina, she likes to take bruce dancing except it's swing dance instead of salsa)

fun fact: duke canonically is a fan of heavy metal!! theres a band he listens to called batman's [the second part is always censored] thats made up of ex arkham cons whos music is commentary on the american judicial and prison systems

no problem!! also i definitely recommend you read more comics centered around duke, he has such an interesting arc. unfortunately, dc forgets him a lot so theres more than a few amazing storylines of his that have just been dropped, but theres still good material on him
